Trust
Jeremiah 17:7-8 (NLT)
But blessed are those who trust in the Lord and have made the Lord their hope and confidence. They are like trees planted along a riverbank, with roots that reach deep into the water. Such trees are not bothered by the heat or worried by long months of drought. Their leaves stay green, and they never stop producing fruit.
As Seventh-day Adventists, we are called to trust in the Lord and to have hope in Him. This passage from Jeremiah reminds us of the importance of trusting in the Lord and having hope in Him. When we put our trust and hope in the Lord, He will be like a tree planted by the waters that will not be concerned when drought and heat come.
The imagery of the tree planted by the waters is a powerful reminder of God’s faithfulness. The tree is rooted in the waters and is not concerned when drought and heat come because it is well-nourished by the water. In the same way, when we trust in the Lord and put our hope in Him, we can be sure that He will take care of us and provide for our needs.
This passage also reminds us of the importance of having faith and hope in God. When we trust in Him and put our hope in Him, we can be sure that He will never leave us nor forsake us. He will be our rock and our refuge. He will be our strength and our shield. Our faith and hope in Him will sustain us through the hardest of times.
We also find encouragement in this passage to share the good news of Jesus Christ with others. When we share the good news of Jesus and show others the hope that we have in Him, we can be sure that they too will experience the blessings of trusting in the Lord. As we share the good news of Jesus and show others the hope that we have in Him, we can be sure that more and more people will be blessed with the goodness and faithfulness of the Lord.
Today, may we put our trust and hope in the Lord. May we encourage others to do the same. And may we all experience His goodness and love in the good times and the difficulties of life.
